Today was a pretty good day... if you don't care about being a 'C' student.
Even if good triumphs, the bad seems to have more weight in the sense of urgency, so it's pretty bad from where I'm standing.
After this morning's lecture, I went to the Main Cafe with The Other One (TOO - I should make it The Other One Lah, TOOL xD). While ordering the day's special (Nachos!), the friendly cafe staff who've I've met on several occasions asked me where I was from and commented that it was nice to have a sibling studying together. It occurred to me that I liked most of the front-line staff and would probably miss having meals there after I've graduated.
After the sub-par nachos, I headed to the next class in an almost good mood; TOO rather begrudgingly because she didn't finish her assigned work, to put it simply. I hung around for 15 minutes and no one came to class. I started to wonder if class had been cancelled. TOO was all too (pun intended) eager to leave. She even said that we should take the lift to avoid bumping into our lecturer, as he usually takes the stairs.
I came home and went online. (You'll be reading this line a lot from now onwards). The French movie starring Mélanie Laurent was complete. I then went to Whedonesque and freaked out for the next three minutes. Eliza Dushku and Tahmoh Penikett were attending Supanova (Perth)! Not to mention, Felicia Day and Charisma Carpenter will also be there. It was awesome news, the day got way better than when I woke up this morning.
Of course, at this point, I have to ask myself, so much good in one day, it can't get any better, right? Things will have to go downwards soon? Went to Hell, it did.
I recalculated the days till my second test for Mkt311: 2 days. (At the time of writing, 1 day). Five chapters and I have yet to revise even one. There was the customary freaking out and ranty-anxiousness, then I decided to just ride the wave -- I wasted more time doing everything else but study.
I did my research for Supanova (tickets, transport, tips) and wondered if I needed a zoom lens for this event. If there's going to be a lot of people, and I imagine so for Whedonverse panels, I can't expect to have good seats. There's also the height disadvantage in this particular locale. Then I started considering renting a lens from local stores but they're a little too pricey for me, especially when I know I have one sitting at home in MAS. On the other hand, I don't want to roam the grounds carrying someone else's lens, risking damage and loss the entire trip! I decided not to rent which means I have to compensate by being kiasu; standing in line hours before panels begin, or something like that.
For a brief moment, at 8pm, everything became better when I stuffed myself with good food.
Salad - Lettuce, cucumbers, carrots and grapes with Thousand Island dressing
Main - Baked sausages with fried rice and baked beans
Dessert - Toffee ice cream
I wish I took pictures because it looked really nice with its colours (orange, red, brown, green). I couldn't eat any more so I skipped dessert. (WhaaaaT?!) Oh, the gluttony!
The dinner made me sleepy, so I decided that I should sleep it out and only nerd it out the next day. Now, I'm here writing this really long post when I had originally planned for two paragraphs, max.
