Nerds have it hard

What do you do when employers are looking for well-rounded individuals who excel not only in the classroom, but outside as well?

My extra-curricular activities are mostly indoors, specifically, computer related, for goodness' sake. To make things worse, everyone here wants to hire management, engineering, finance, business, etc. students. Nobody wants a communications student *big fat sad face*. (I did however find some graduate programs open to all degrees, but they want Australian PR or citizens. I'm neither.)

What do I do now?

I must try harder. Or go to Singapore. *chuckle chuckle* OR switch industries!

be a world renowned speaker or something. theres a market for communications here. people give presentation trainings. in corporate world, knowing how to be an effective presenter is important, since companies value that, they hire professionals to train their workforce. see if u have these companies in aus.

Do you know the PR regulation has changed? It's so much better now. I can apply TR and stay in Aussie for 18 months to look for job or work and apply PR after that.

The issue on they willing to sponsor me or not is another problem la. But I think I can overcome that.

Maybe you should really consider further your studies. Take Graduate diploma instead. It's cheaper. If you really wanna stay in Aussie, that's the case.

Dude, so easy to say hor? I want to look at opps in the US as well. Do you know if there's a Temporary Residence Visa thingy there, like in AUS?

PC:
I know that it's changed but didn't know that it was supposed to be a good change. Great.. I'll look into it. But I still think there's not really a market for me here.
