To ping or not to ping?

Is it right to ping commissioned posts?

One perspective is, you're doing a great job.
Like writing more than the required amount of words, you're doing more than required. Which is good right?

But you don't want to seem like you're driving traffic to your blog...
Not unless, you really think that people will be interested then it's fine, I guess.

What do you think?

Let me put it this way. If the sponsored post is really great, like a good TV ad which gets uploaded on Youtube to be viewed by millions, go ahead and ping the great post. Else, it's definitely a no-go area.

I don't see why we should ping a sponsored post other than to get traffic. So nope. Not that it'll increase how much you're paid anyway. =)

No.

1) It's sponsored post.
2) It's driving traffic to your own blog for personal/monetary use.
3) Nobody wants to read a sponsored post.

Ok. That guy, whoever he was, was a prick.
He pinged his sponsored post.

Hence, the birth of this topic here.

Hinching: Hmm, you don't see great ads coming along very often. :D

Raymond: I think in Nuffnang it just might. Teehee...

Jason: Yes sir, noted.

actually i just ping-ed one of my sponsored posts (cameras, anyone?), but I think it is still acceptable, if I were to write it in that way? You be the judge and tell me if I should have ping-ed.
